Karey B. Johnson grew up with coastal dishes and an enthusiasm for marine life. She began her culinary career in Houston, Texas, working in restaurants throughout high school and college, and then in New York City in 1995. Later in London, UK, Karey kicked off a food and catering business in 2002 from scratch, which she ran for eight years. Karey opened Glow in 2011 where she is chef, owner and author of cookbook GLOW: Tastes from a Tiny Boathouse . In February 2013, Karey founded Coastal Flavors Food + Drink , a weekend celebrating seafood, wines and music on the coast.
